At present, the education curriculum that uses English as a medium (English Program) is becoming more popular among parents who want their children to gain competence in English, at the same time learn and respect Thai culture. Due to its popularity, the number of institutes providing an English Program has increased constantly. In 1995, the Ministry of Education had allowed only 3 private schools to use the approved curriculum that uses English as a medium. Later, in 2017, the number of schools had risen to 159 schools across the country.

              Although the number of schools providing English Programs has increased, there still has not been any cooperation nor coordination among the schools. Therefore, a group of private schools had established the Association Of Private Schools for English Program (A.P.E.P) where members can share and exchange knowledge, ideas and information to improve their teaching methods and managing the English Program.
